Black Stars management committee vice chairman Wilfred Osei has backed the call ups to Vincent Atinga and Isaac Twum into the Black Stars ahead of Uganda 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Black Stars coach has handed debut call ups to Hearts of Oak's Vincent Atinga and Inter Allies midfielder Isaac Twum for their remarkable performance for the Black Stars B WAFU Cup of Nations winning team.

According to Osei Palmer, coach Kwesi Appiah should be lauded for the decision to include the duo, citing that it indicates the coach's desire to give opportunities to players who performing well on the local scene.

"It's a great development which needs to be lauded. Konadu categorically stated during the tournament that after every game he meets with coach Appiah and they have discussions at length on the players that are performing well on the field of play," Osei Palmer told Asempa FM.

"So after monitoring the players at the tournament, he's given the appropriate response that these are the players I would want to use, therefore if he's chosen them I'm not surprised at all by his decision because Vincent Atinga and Isaac Twum contributed their quotas to the Black Stars B as well as goalkeeper Joseph Addo."

"This is the appropriate response he's given us and also to encourage the other players in the local league that your efforts will be rewarded when you perform well. Had he not handed call up to any of the Black Stars B players, that's where questions will be raised in regards to his tournament monitoring reports," he concluded.
