Will Aston Villa be pleased to see the back of Jordan Ayew?

Jordan Ayew appears to be on his way out of Aston Villa to join Premier League side Swansea City.

Jordan Ayew has looked fairly impressive in the Championship with Aston Villa, and, while it is not saying much, was arguably one of their brighter players in last season's dreadful campaign.

Nevertheless, will Villa be glad to see the back of him if he completes a move on deadline day?

According to the Daily Mail, Ayew is closing in on a move to Swansea City in a deal that would see Neil Taylor and around £5 million head to Villa Park.

And while some fans may be concerned about losing Ayew's quality - especially if he is not replaced with another attacking player - most supporters seem to be in favour of the move.

Though the 25-year-old has the potential to be an exciting player, he is often guilty of being selfish on the ball, and it appears that Steve Bruce's arrival as manager has done little to get the best out of him.

Ayew has contributed no goals and just one assist in the Championship since the Second City derby draw with Birmingham back in October, which suggests that he is not going to thrive during Bruce's tenure.

But with the rest of the team beginning to get their act together and moving themselves well away from the relegation battle and towards the very periphery of a play-off push, it makes sense for everyone to accept that Ayew is probably not the right player to help them try and continue their ascent up the table.
