Ghana defender Lee Addy claims he will be fit in the next four weeks, contrary to reports he will be out for the rest of the season and the 2014 World Cup due to a knee injury.

The 23-year-old suffered a knee injury while in action for Dinamo Zagreb in the Croatian top flight last week.

Dinamo Zagreb doctors said the Ghana international was set for an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a ‘rupture of the interior cruciate ligament and tearing of the lateral meniscus of the left knee’.

The injury, as diagnosed by the club team doctors will keep the former Berekum Chelsea player out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

But the defender claims he will make a full recovery in four months time after undergoing therapy on Tuesday.

“I am just from the therapy, I will be out for four weeks not six months as reported,” Addy told Allsports.

“I don’t know how the news of my injury was reported. I’ll return to action after four weeks.”

Addy’s claims is being interpreted as a desperate attempt to make himself available for Black Stars selection for the World Cup especially after sustaining cruciate ligament injury which takes at least four months to heal.

It however remains to be seen if the initial diagnosis of the Dinamo Zagreb doctors were accurate.
