Richard Mpong has revived the prospect of a move to Asante Kotoko by confirming he is interested in joining the Premier League champions and that ‘unofficial talks’ have taken place over a possible move.

The promising Medeama winger has been linked with a move to the Kumasi-based club all season but a purported huge asking price from the club has proved problematic for the Porcupine Warriors so far.

He has emerged as coach Maxwell Konadu’s preferred midfield reinforcement ahead of next season’s Caf Champions League, though the Black Stars assistant coach is believed to have been sufficiently impressed with his young players this term.

The 21-year-old is also reportedly on the radar of Hearts of Oak but he appears to be mre interested in their arch-rivals.

“It’s true Kotoko have contacted me and the club and at the moment they’re in talks with managers,” Mpong said

“Nothing concrete has been arrived at but I believe t will not be long before a final decision is taken by both parties,”

The youngster marked his Ghana debut with the opener during the Black Stars 1-1 draw game in an international friendly against Chile.
