Diminutive midfielder Richard Mpong has expressed delight at scoring the decisive goal which earned Ghana qualification to the All African Games against Nigeria on Sunday.

The Medeama SC player's well-placed shot lightened up the Baba Yara Stadium in the 70th minute to put the Black Meteors in full charge of the tie and says he is 'currently on top of the world".

"I feel really great  for scoring the decisive goal that qualified Ghana to the all African Games," Mpong told GHANAsoccernet.com after the game.

"It is the dream of every player to score goals which importantly helps the team achieve a great feat like this."

On whether he envisioned the moment when he got the ball at the edge of the Nigerian's penalty box Mpong replied: "Goals like these are my usual trademark.

"I recall scoring a similar one against Asante Kotoko in this very stadium in the just ended league."

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu had given Ghana an early lead through a power-driver in the 10th minute but had to wait a staggering 60 more for the home fans to breathe a massive sigh of relief.
