Wolves are looking to sign a defender to replace long-term absentee Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

The 25-year-old, who joined on a free transfer after leaving Eintracht Braunschweig in the summer, has been sidelined for a number of months with an ankle injury.

He didn't feature at all in pre-season but it was expected he would be in contention by the end of August.

However the right-back has struggled to cope with an extra workload in training as he yet to kick a ball for the English Championship side.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is frustrated with the injury situation of the defender, saying the club will need to find a solution with the Ghanaian.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands the Portuguese is looking to sign a defender to replace the Ghana international, who is nowhere near a return to the side.
