Work permit problem delays John Paintsil, Mike Mohammed debut for SA side Maritzburg
John Paintsil's debut for Maritzbirg has been delayed

Ghanaian duo of John Paintsil and Mike Mohammed are unable to play for their South African top-flight side Maritzburg because of work permit problems.

The tow players joined the club about three weeks ago but are unavailable for selection by coach Steve Komphela.

The Team of Choice are uncertain when the work permits for foreign players Paintsil and Mohammed will be processed.

This means they will stay on the sidelines until they sort out the necessary paperwork to enable them to play for the club.

Until then, Komphela will need to show extra street smarts to patch together a formidable team.

Paintsil was spotted in Accra last week and it is believed he arrived in the country to sort out his work permit at the South African High Commission.

It is however not known if Mohammed, who played in Swaziland before his move to Maritzburg, was also in Accra to solve his permit problems.

When the Ghanaian duo are available Komphela faces a selection puzzle over which players to drop in order to accommodate the experienced signings.
