Klinsmann says he is delighted to play Nigeria before taking on Ghana

USA national team head coach, Jurgen Klinsmann says he is thrilled by the opportunity to play against Nigeria in a pre-World Cup friendly that will prepare them to face Ghana at the tournament in Brazil.

The German trainer is happy that the match will give them the chance to test an African opponent before they play the Black Stars at the World Cup especially when Nigeria are Ghana's arch-rivals.

The game, the last in a three-match send-off programme organised by the United States Soccer Federation will hold on June 7 at the EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.

Klinsmann believes the Super Eagles will offer him an insight on how to plan his strategy for USA's Group G foe, Ghana when both sides clash on June 16 in the opening group game at the Estadio das Dunas, Natal in Brazil.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the schedule we have put together for the Send-Off Series,” said Klinsmann.

“We have some fantastic opponents that will help us get prepared for the teams we will meet in the World Cup.”

Meanwhile tickets for the match will go on sale as from today, according to the organisers.
