Head coach of the Cranes of Uganda Milutin Micho Sredejovic says his side are not under any pressure ahead of the opening group clash with the Black Stars of Ghana in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana will host the Cranes on October 7 at the Tamale Sports Stadium as they open the group for a ticket to appear at the mundial.

Uganda in 2014 held the Black Stars to a 1-1 stalemate at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and defeated Ghana by a lone goal in Kampala in the return leg of the 2015 Afcon qualifiers.

And Micho says despite that splendid performance in 2014, his side is not under any pressure to replicate that performance.

"We are in tough group for the qualifiers but we are dwelling on the wings of the Afcon qualification to play World Cup qualifiers as a bridge preparation for the Afcon," he told Ghanasoccernet.com in an exclusive interview.

"Absolute pressure is on Ghana and Egypt as favourites in the group. For us in Uganda, we have no pressure. We just want to measure ourselves how far we have developed our team in comparison with the best in Africa," he added.

Micho tipped Ghana and Egypt as favourites for the group when the draw was done some months ago and still thinks Uganda are underdogs.

Perhaps the Serbian tactician is flattering the Black Stars for a shocker next month in Tamale.
