Arsenal legend Ian Wright has slammed the club's scouting team.
He used the example of N'Golo Kante and former Leicester team-mate Riyad Mahrez as the type of unknown players Gunners chiefs should be looking for.
Wrighty told The Sun podcast: “Arsene Wenger says this is one of the best squads he's ever had.
“Every single opportunity this team have to try and prove him right, they let him down dramatically.
“They let him down miserably. And he's there on his own STILL trying to protect them. The recruitment at Arsenal is embarrassing.
“I could have bought Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez. That's not finding gems like N'Golo Kante or Mahrez."
