Aduana Stars forward Yahaya Mohammed has disclosed the reasons behind his exclusion from the club's 18-man squad that will face Libyan side Al Tahadi in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Mohammed, who rejoined the Fire Boys in the ongoing transfer window after rescinding his contract with xx, has been excluded in the side's 18-man squad for their clash against Al Tahadi.

Widespread reports suggest that, Mohammed was left out of the squad by coach Yusif Abubakar due to his excessive weight and poor form.

However, the maverick marksman has quashed the report, claiming that he's not had limited training with the team after his move last month.

“I couldn’t join the team early for preseason because I had to attend to some nagging family issues. When I did joined later, I picked an injury and was compelled to to play in G8 against Kotoko.” Mohammed told Oyerepa FM

“My absence from the team has nothing to do with my form but rather injury. No coach in the world can overlook a fit Yahaya Mohammed.

The much anticipated clash will come off on Saturday, February 10, in Egypt due to the unstable political situation in Libya.
