Yahaya Mohammed not eyeing top scorer's award

Amidaus midfielder Yahaya Mohammed says he is not targeting the Goal King award in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old currently leads the top scorer's chart with nine goals from the nine matches has played so far in the Ghanaian top flight.

The on loan Asante Kotoko player's potency upfront despite being a defensive midfielder has seen many suggest he is well on his way to emerging the Goal King by the end of the campaign.

But Mohammed has watered down these expectations, saying he is only concentrated on improving himself while helping Amidaus.

"I am not targeting the Goal King but of you give it to me of course I will gladly take it," he said.

"I have scored nine goals from nine matches because I missed the game against King Faisal but I don't think that is enough basis to start claiming the Goal King award."

Mohammed's impressive goal scoring run has seen him emerge as a real candidate for a spot on the Black Stars team at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
