Yakubu Mohammed: AshantiGold striker scores FIVE goals in three matches to emerge joint top scorer

AshantiGold returnee striker Yakubu Mohammed has scored five goals in three matches to move joint top on the scorers chart after Sunday’s hat-trick in the 3-2 win over Edubiase in the Adansi derby.

He has joined Hearts of Oak's Gilbert Fiamenyo, Noah Martey of Bechem United and Berekum Chelsea duo Stephen Baffour and Kofi Owusu.

Mohammed began scoring two weeks ago when his solitary strike gave the Miners a 1-0 win over Liberty Professionals in Dansoman.

He also found the back of the net with 2-1 win over Asante Kotoko.

The 24-year-old has returned home after unsuccessful spells with South African Premier Soccer League side Maritzburg United and Tunisian outfit AS Djerba.

His goals on Sunday included two penalties as AshGold tightened their grip on top of the

Mohammed scored 14 goals in the Ghana Premier League two seasons ago before leaving abroad.
