Coach Yaw Acheampong refused to be drawn on his future at AshantiGold after leading the club to second position in the Ghana Premier League.

The future of the ex-Ghana international has been shrouded in uncertainty ever since he took over from the sacked Zdravko Lugarovic, with Acheampong largely viewed as a stop-gap appointment.

Officials of the Obuasi-based club are reportedly determined to bring in an expatriate to manage the club next season but may now decide that Acheampong’s claims on the vacancy are impossible to ignore.

He wants to leave his future in the hands of  his employers.

“I don’t want to talk about my future at the club. It lies in the hands of the management and they will have the final say,” Acheampong said

“We want to focus on the FA cup. There is no issue about which team I will coach next term.

Let 's try and win the FA Cup and then we can talk about that.

“But I believe it will be important and special to continue working at this great club,”

The former Tema Youth coach is aware that his reputation has been enhanced in the past few months and that he will have no shortage of offers should he leave.
