Ex-Ghana winger Yaw Peko says youth international Ebenezer Assifuah deserves to be crowned 2013 CAF Most Promising Talent.

Preko was Assifuah’s assistant coach when the youngster raked in six goals to win the Golden Shoe Award at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup and help Ghana to finish third.

Assifuah faces competition from Saleh Gomaa of Egypt and Nigeria's wonder kid Kelechi Iheanacho at the CAF Gala in Lagos tonight.

But Preko believes the FC Sion player hold the aces.

“With the little time I had with him at the African Youth Championship in Algeria and the World Cup in Turkey I believe he can win this award,” Preko told Joy FM.

“When we got to the World Cup he proved to the whole world that he has ambitions of becoming a great player and where he is now he is playing very well so for me I believe he can win this award.”
