Kumasi Asante Kotoko have won many trophies over the decades but surprisingly these numerous trophies until recently were kept on the floor in one of the rooms at the clubââ¬â¢s secretariat.
In fact, these trophies were once left in a kitchen of the secretariat but the good news is that, the trophies now have a new home.
That new home is a glass cabinet procured by management and mounted at the Board room at the secretariat. Asantekotokosc.com and other visitors to the clubââ¬â¢s office this week have all been fascinated not really by the cabinet but in fact by the number of trophies Kotoko have won and which many of these visitors have not seen before.
The trophies include national league titles won for keeps, FA Cups and other prestigious silverwares clinched by the club in between 1950 and 2014. The three trophies picked by Kotoko in the 2013/14 season that had been hidden in what appeared like a storeroom at the secretariat are now part of the trophies displayed in the new cabinet.
Operations Manager, George Kennedy who supervised the procurement of the trophy cabinet, told Asantekotokosc.com in a brief interview that, management found it important to provide the trophy cabinet since it was an essential asset in every football clubââ¬â¢s secretariat.
He said Kotokoââ¬â¢s history is replete with stories of the Porcupine Warriors winning many major trophies adding that, it was appropriate to keep these trophies in a safe, decent place for posterity.
