Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Fatau is likely to be handed his sixth La Liga start when Granada host Malaga on Sunday afternoon.

Regular starter Recio is ineligible to play as he is on loan from the Anchovies and coach Lucas Alcaraz believes he can count on the 21-year old Accra-born player.

“Recio will not play because a clause in his loan deal from Malaga prevents it,” he told reporters. “Fatau has played well whenever he has been given a chance.

"We are testing options for the starting line and the development of the game.”

Granada are placed 13th on the table with 34 points, four points away from the relegation zone and will be looking to bounce back from Monday’s 2-0 loss to Levante.

"Monday’s defeat was a blow but I expect a good reaction from the team in the derby on Saturday,” said Alcaraz.

“I like to play these kinds of games between teams that are close on the table and also because of the traditional rivalry between the two clubs.”
