Zamalek President fine players $5000 for losing CAF Champions League game

President of Zamalek FC Mortada Mansour has fined his players an amount of 100,000 Egyptian Pounds for losing a Champions League game to Algerian side USM Alger.

The aggrieved president of the Egyptian giants slapped the hefty amount on his players after that surprised 1-0 defeat in Algiers.

The surprised decision incurred the wrath of the football fraternity with the hefty amount totally $5000. Expected to be deducted from the player’s monthly salary, the punishment is reportedly set to roll some heads among the playing body and the technical team.

It is not clear when the deductions will commence from the player’s salary but the decision could lead mass exodus players from the North African side.

Zamalek recently added Ghanaian forward Benjamin Acheampong to their roaster.
