Zambia FA President Kalusha Bwalya is confident the Chipolopolo will retain their crown at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The Zambians swept three awards the GLO-CAF gala on Thursday night in Accra including National Team of the Year with Renard Herve been named as  Coach of the Year for guiding the team to clinch the continental showpiece in Gabon and Equitorial Guinea.

The former African Footballer of the Year believes they have enough quality to retain their crown.

“It’s only a year. There players are there and the mentality to win has not lost on us,” Bwalya said

“We are not going to underrate any team because the likes of Cote D’voire, Nigeria and Ghana are always going to be favourites.

“But we have team and that I believe will do the trick for us again.

“We respect every team but we’re also not going to be pushovers. We’re all going there for the title.”

Zambia defied the bookmakers to clinch their first African title after beating Cote D'voire in a nail-biting penalty sh0ot-out.
