Real Tamale United took a giant step towards returning to the Ghana Premier League with a hard fought 3-2 win over West African United in the Middle League Playoff game played at the Sekondi Essipong Stadium on Sunday.
The Northerners raced into an impressive 3-0 lead in the first half through Wisdom Kelly, Kwabena Emmanuel and Awal Masawudu.
The win looked inevitable at halftime with West African United struggling to contain their hosts.
They however returned the more determined side in the second half â⬓ taking full advantage of a complacent RTU to score two goals and mount a late scare for the Tamale supporters.
RTU however held on despite a late surge from the visitors to take all three points in their opening playoff match.
