Elche striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom is not bogged down after being excluded from Ghana's provisional World Cup squad, according to his agent Oliver Arthur.

The 21-year-old, who had a successful loan spell with the promoted La Liga side, could not convince Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah.

Boakye scored seven goals in all competitions for Los Franjiverdes who survived relegation and will return to his parent club Juventus.

"I visited him and he was very calm about the whole thing," FIFA agent Arthur told Africanfootball.com.

"He is young and has more years ahead of him. We can talk about the Nations Cup next year and more competitions.

“After the squad was released, he scored a goal for Elche in their final league match.”

Boakye was named in Ghana’s final squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations but could not make his debut due to injury.
