Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah says the versatility of midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah gives him more options ahead of the start of the 2014 World Cup.

The Juventus star can play as left back, on the wings and also as an offensive midfielder.

At the 2013 Africa of Nations, he started the campaign as a defender but was later re-assigned en route to finishing fourth.

Asamoah could be handed a starting role as left-back in Ghana’s final pre-World Cup friendly against South Korea on Monday night.

"Kwadwo Asamoah is one of the players that you can put him in any position apart from the goalpost," Appiah said about Asamoah.

"With him [Asamoah], I normally don't have much of a problem.

"I can tell him to play this role or the other. He is so versatile and can play anywhere."
