2014 World Cup: Otto Addo and Stephen Appiah join Ghana's backroom staff
Otto Addo and Stephen Appiah is Ghana's camp.

Ex-internationals Otto Addo and Stephen Appiah have joined Ghana’s backroom for the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.

Addo, who is a youth team coach at German side Hamburg, has been hired as one of the scouts to help the technical team.

Appiah, ex-Ghana captain, will not be on the bench but expected to help Kwesi Appiah prepare his players for matches.

The pair were both members of Ghana’s squad which played and reached the round 16 stage at the 2006 finals in Germany.

Ghana have arrived at their team camp base in Maceio and trained ahead of Monday’s opener against USA.

Guys help condition the Black Stars before Monday. A well conditioned Black Stars that can maintain their positioning, spacing and formation will be scary indeed.

How weak is Ghana backroom technical staff...please don't guess very weak. Listen Ghana against U.S.A whoever is going to win this match is going to win it from the bench. Bedroom soccer pundits, please don't come up the athlecticism and how hungrier BS are. Tactically AA is very weak and on top of it he has a very weak technical advisors i.e Max Konadu, Otto addo, Stephen Appiah, Oti Akenten, sam addy and the rest i don't even want to mention. In comparison klinsmen has Berti Vogts one of the best brains in the world in the early and late 90s and also the architect of BS Bochum disaster you guys remember(sorry I forgot your date of birth 1990) , Herman and others. Their records are there for everyboody to see. If AA doesn't get his tactics right( does he have any...we know of his regular 4-4-2 or copy cat from his boss pack the bus) on monday he can kiss Brasil bye bye. Klinsman plays varied tactics in real time games, he does not watch mistakes of his players and do nothing like AA in real time games. Let me give you a clear example. During our game with Holland and South Korean within 90mins the defence were making similar mistakes in both games i.e ball watching and indecision among the defenders. what did AA do... nothing.

I've said this over and over again. You guys(gfa) are spending obscene amounts of money on going to the wc but fail to acquire the services of a world-class coach. He doesn't even have all his badges. He hasn't any experience coaching anywhere in the world not even Ghana.

Klinsman is not even a tactician... He is downright a good motivator...infact he is termed the master motivator both in Germany and USA. His previous players attest to that... Now on Berti Vogts... Do some research woman... Or man....He has a 43.95% (109 wins, 64 draws and 75 losses) winning percentage at club and international level….thats not serch a scary stats for the mighty tactician you call Berti? I support AA geting his tactics right but in reality you blowing the credentials of Klinsman and Berti way overboard... They are average at best

You guys(gfa) a spending a fortune on accommodations etc. But fail to acquire the services of a world-class coach. AA has no experience managerial wise not even in this country. Yet u hand him the bs job. If we had a proper tactically sound coach we would get out of this group. And before you guys bring keshie up. He had experience managing togo before the SE.

Nana searching on stats will help us a bit... Now on the Holland match we had 83% passing accuracy, we had a 76% defence accuracy.... Go to Goal.com or google Holland vs Ghana match stats.... 76% is not a as scary as you will have us believe.... Yes thereare issues and honestly my worry about that game wSthat we had only 1 shot on Target. Yes we have problems.. Sodoes everyteam

Batty im not sure you read my post before replying..... I never posted negativity with my facts.. Onthe contrary i stated the stats to support my positivity that those matches being used as a measure by some as to how we will fare in Brazil is positively good and not as bad as stated

Sam so what you are saying is Klinsmann and AA are both average. Fine I admit it. But if we are spending more than them why can't we hire a better coach. We budgeted about 20m$.why not hire a better coach or even improve our technical team

It's not as if AA was a world-class player like Klinsmann. Only his playing career commands respect. Serving under some has been managers on never will be coaches is not good enough I'm afraid.
