Ghana attacker David Accam struck an elegant match-winner to help Helsingborg IF to a crucial 3-2 home victory over BK Hacken in the Swedish top-flight on Sunday evening.

The 23-year-old rattled the net in sensational style in the 78th minute to give the Reds a 3-2 lead at the Olympia.

Hacken, who had former Ghana U17 captain Nasiru Mohammed on their bench end the first-half with a 2-1 victory but Helsingborg returned from the break to peck the scoring with Smarason scoring in the 55th minute.

The Reds hassled and jostled for the lead and it eventually arrived - Accam stealing a ball from the right flank and bombing into space, escaping a couple of legs before rifling a powerful drive into the top right corner of the net.

Helsingborg went into the game without victory and Accam's strike was crucial as they registered a vital win and move to 9th place with a game in hand.

Personally it proved a good moment for the former Right to Dream Academy graduate who has been in terrific scoring form since the start of the Swedish season, scoring 5 goals in the Swedish FA Cup.

Accam's compatriot Ema Boateng missed the game with a back problem.
