Midfielder Sulley Muntari says it is sad for Ghana to be depending on a favour from Portugal in order to progress at the 2014 World Cup.

The Black Stars still have a chance to qualify from Group G after taking a vital a point off Germany in a thrilling 2-2 draw on Saturday.

Ghana however need the United States to lose to Portugal in the other second Group G game on Sunday night to remain alive in the tournament being staged in Brazil.

This, Ghana's AC Milan star Sulley Muntari is least pleased with as the Black Stars no longer control their faith in the competition.

“We lost two points [against Germany], we lost points that was going to help us go through,” Muntari said.

“We are waiting for tomorrows game [Portugal vrs USA]. We pray that Portugal beats the USA.

“It is sad to feel like this but it is part of football.”
