2019/20 Ghana Premier League: Week 6 Match Preview - King Faisal Babes vs. Elmina Sharks FC

Published on: 24 January 2020

King Faisal Babes will be chasing their first three points of the campaign when they welcome Elmina Sharks FC to the Babayara stadium on Saturday.

The premiership newboys have picked only one point from the possible six at home so far.

At Kumasi this weekend, King Faisal aim at changing the scripts by beating Sharks to record first victory of the season.

Undefeated in the last two games give the Green and White side some sort of morale going into Saturday's match.

Another boost for the home side is the return of key man Kwame Peprah who served a suspension in the last game last week.

Experienced duo Daniel Nii Adjei and Michael Akuffo are finally set to mark their debuts. They are expected to be selected by coach Anthony Commey for the game.

Elmina Sharks FC are having a rollercoaster campaign so far as the wins are forthcoming even though they are unbeaten in last four league games.

Sharks' only victory in the season has come at away. They beat Inter Allies FC 3-2 at the Accra sports stadium on match day four.

Avoiding a defeat on Saturday will see Yaw Acheampong's men extend their unbeaten streak to five.

Benjamin Bernard Boateng who has scored in each of the last two fixtures will have to do it again if the "Botweku Mba" are to win or draw the match.

Defender Suraj Ibrahim won't be available for selection as remains sidelined with an injury.

Alhaji Mustapha and goalie Joseph Essam earned their first starts of the season last weekend. They are expected to maintain their spots for Saturday's game.

Prediction: King Faisal Babes 2-1 Elmina Sharks FC
