Ghana's No. 1

2019/20 Ghana Premier League: Week 8 Match Preview - Berekum Chelsea vs. Karela United FC

Published on: 04 February 2020

Berekum Chelsea will not be fancying the prospect of admitting back to back defeats in the championship as they play as hosts to Karela United on Wednesday.

As such, the Bibires will count on their form at the Golden City park to return to winning ways.

The Berekum lads suffered their first major setback of the season by losing 2-1 to Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour park last Sunday.

After keeping clean sheets in the first five games this campaign, Berekum Chelsea have conceded in the last two fixtures.

They hope to keep another clean sheet against Karela United on Wednesday.

Asare Bediako and his boys will reclaim top spot if they record a win in the midweek.

Cato Iddrissu Nureini and Braimah Mohammed are expected back with the team for this encounter.

Karela United have been piss poor on road this term as they have lost two and drew once of the three away games played this season.

The Pride and Passion outfit are travelling to Berekum with the intentions of changing their away script by upsetting Chelsea on Wednesday.

They could drop to the relegation zone if they fail to avoid defeat.

Coming from a 3-0 thrashing of Legon Cities FC last Friday, Karela United have bolstered their confidence for the visit to Berekum.

Diawisie Taylor found his scoring boots last weekend after going blank in 540 minutes. He bagged a brace in the 3-0 win over Legon Cities and will be hoping to score again on Wednesday.

Samuel Frimpong and Samuel Ofori are expected to keep their places in the Enos Kwame Adipah's team following an impressive debuts last Friday.

Prediction: Berekum Chelsea 1-0 Karela United FC
