Published on: 20 December 2019

With just eight days to begin the Ghana Premier League, one of the biggest derby of the season will take place in Kumasi between Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold on February 16.

The match day 8 encounter will see the Miners make a short trip to Kumasi to face the Porcupine Warriors.

Asante Kotoko-record Premier League champions- have also had some difficulties playing their regional rivals in the Asanteman Derby.

The most recent game between the two Ghanaian heavyweights saw the Obuasi based lads thumped Asante Kotoko in the semi finals of the NC Tier II Special Competition.

Both sides have been active during the off season, after representing Ghana in Africa.

Asante Kotoko played in both the CAF champions League and the CAF Confederations Cup, with the Miners featuring in the Confederation Cup.
