2020/21 Ghana Premier League: New Hearts deputy coach to join team in Dormaa ahead of Aduana clash

Published on: 12 November 2020

Hearts of Oak Deputy coach Stephen Asare Bediako is expected to join the team for their league opener against Aduana Stars on Saturday 14 November 2020.

Stephen Asare Bediako was appointed by the Board to assist head coach Nii Odoom ahead of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

The two coaches are expected to lead the Phobians in their quest to end their league title drought this season.

The former Berekum Chelsea coach after his appointment is expected to join the team at Dormaa when they play against Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park.

Hearts of Oak have not won the Ghana Premier League title since the 2008/09 season and are hoping to break the jinx this season.

Meanwhile Communications Director for the club Opare Addo has confirmed that Nii Odoom will lead the team this season after earlier reports in the local media that the club is in talks with former Ghana International Ibrahim Tanko to take charge as head coach.

“People should take their minds off regarding Ibrahim Tanko. We're looking for an assistant coach. Edward is going to lead the team for the upcoming season as the head coach”, Opare Addo told Hello FM.

“When Kim Grant left we made it clear that Odoom has taken place. We didn't state otherwise. If there is any change we'll announce it”

”I think we made it clear in the announcement we sent out that Pinto came in as a Technical Director. The issue here is that the Pobiman academy will comprise of U12, U17, the Auroras and the main team. So he was not brought in as head coach of the club but as Technical Director of the club”, he added.
