Berekum Chelsea forward Stephen Amakona was named Most Valuable Player in their narrow victory over Legon Cities on Matchday 18 of the Ghana Premier League.

The winger netted the winner as Chelsea secured all three points at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in Dormaa on Sunday.

Amonkona was a constant threat for the visitors right from the blast of the whistle and crowned his performance with the match winning goal after tapping in following Fatau Dauda's half save which came his direction.

Bright Amponsah whose ferocious strike was parried into the way of Amankona for the second goal, opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half. Hans Kwoffie got the consolation half for Legon Cities.

The win on Sunday lifts Chelsea from the 11th position to eight, after just the first game of the second round.
