WAFA playmaker Augustine Boakye weaved his magic on Sunday and was adjudged Man of the Match in their 2-0 win over Karela United in Cape Coast.

He scored in the second minute of the match as the Academy Boys took advantage of the neutral ground to open the lead.

The match was moved to the Central Regional capital due to an indefinite home ban of Karela's Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Nzema Aiyinase.

When Karela tried to snatch the equalizer, they got knocked off their perch with the second goal.

Midfielder Lawrence Agyekum was at hand to fire home the second for the visitors.

In the second half, WAFA made it compact for the hosts and protected their two-goal cushion.

Karela shuffled their pack and introduced the likes of Kwame Boateng, Kamaradini Mamudu and Varney Sando.

But they lacked the firepower to get in the goals.

WAFA are now in commanding lead to seal a top 4 berth as the season wraps up next week with a home game against Hearts of Oak.
