2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 11 Match Preview - Aduana Stars vs Ebusua Dwarfs

Published on: 29 January 2021

Aduana Stars welcome Ebusua Dwarfs to Dormaa confident of another victory in the Ghana Premier League after overcoming Asante Kotoko in the previous matchday.

Aduana stunned Kotoko 1-0 in Accra courtesy a second-half strike by Samuel Bioh to climb up to third on the league table and they would want to maintain that position or better it by beating struggling Dwarfs.

A win will be Aduana's third in consecutive games. Before their back to back victories against Legon Cities and Kotoko, they had endured a patchy run, where they recorded two wins in nine games.

Aduana were touted as title favourites coming into the season, however, coach Paa Kwesi Fabin is unconvinced about his current squad and has asked for fresh players.

“We need not less than five new players to be considered title contenders in the league,” coach of Aduana Stars Samuel Fabin said ahead of Sunday’s encounter.

“For now, we are not [contenders]; we are just trying to find our rhythm. But definitely, we need to reinforce if we want to be counted as contenders for the league title,” the former Hearts of Oak coach concluded.

The Crabs travel to the Bono Region without a win in their last two games. They were beaten 1-0 by Kotoko before drawing 1-1 with WAFA in the previous weekend. Both games were played at their Cape Coast stadium.

Its disappointing Dwarfs failed to take advantage of home court, and must now avoid defeat against Aduana on Sunday at the Nana Agyemang-Badu II park. A defeat could see them end matchday in the relegation zone.

Dwarfs can draw inspiration from the head to head record which suggests that they are stronger in this fixture. The Cape Coast lads have won six of the 13 meetings, with three ending in draws.

However, it is worthy of note, Dwarfs recorded their wins at home. Aduana are unbeaten in Dormaa against Dwarfs.
