2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 16 Match Preview - Medeama vs. Eleven Wonders

Published on: 24 February 2021

Medeama welcome Eleven Wonders at home seeking to record their third successive victory in the Ghanaian top-flight fixture on Wednesday.

The Mauve and Yellows have jumped to 5th on the table after back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

The two-time FA Cup holders broke the home invincibility of Elmina Sharks by recording a vital 2-1 win on Sunday.

Medeama coach Samuel Boadu has named striker Prince Opoku-Agyemang in his squad for the tricky tie against the "Sure Wonders" side at the Akoon Park.

Agyemang, who has returned from a short loan stint at South African side Cape Town City FC, is expected to partner last weekend's two-goal hero Amed Toure.

Ignatius Osei-Fosu's side needed a solitary strike from very experienced Mohammed Tetteh Nortey to end their four-game winless streak after the 1-0 win over Great Olympics to move out of the relegation zone.

Prior to the win against the Wonder Club, Eleven Wonders had lost three and drew one in their last four matches in the Premier League with their last victory taken place on January 24.

First goalkeeper John Moosie has lost his position since committing two errors in Wonders' 2-0 loss to Hearts of Oak more a month ago.
