Elmina Sharks aim to build on their famous victory over Asante Kotoko before the break as they host Ebusua Dwarfs in their first match of the Ghana Premier League second round on Sunday afternoon.
The Fearsome Sharks had previously failed to win any of their last six league games (D3 L3), prompting the exit of Yaw Acheampong with Odartey Lamptey replacing him on an interim basis.
Against Ebusua Dwarfs, the Elmina-based side have won two of their last five league meetings (W2 D2 L1).
With 20 points earned, Elmina Sharks are currently 14th on the log, just two spots above the relegation zone.
Ebusua Dwarfs have been better albeit improvement is needed in all departments.
The Mysterious Dwarfs held Bechem United to a 1-1 in their previous league game and before that, clinched a laboured 1-0 win over King Faisal.
The Cape Coast-based outfit have won three of their last six, losing by close margins to Hearts of Oak and Karela United during that period.
23 points have been accumulated by Dwarfs so far and as a result, they sit ninth on the league standings, four points behind a place in the top four.
