2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 22 Match Preview- King Faisal v Karela United

Published on: 02 May 2021

King Faisal will welcome Karela United to the Ohene Ameyaw Park on Sunday for the matchday 22 fixture of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

The 'In Sha Allah' boys will be hoping to make it back to back wins in the GPL after an impressive away victory at Inter Allies last week to boost their survival chances.

Meanwhile, Karela United are desperately in need of their first win since the start of the second round to revive any hopes of mounting a title challenge.

Hosts, King Faisal look the team in form after two draws, a win and a defeat in the second half of the campaign.

However, the visitors have lost two and drawn the other two matches in the second round.

Alhaji Grusah's team have been strengthened by the arrivals of experienced players like Eric Donkor, Paul Aidoo and Latif Salifu to compliment the likes of Kwame Preprah.

The standout performer, however, has been on-loan Kotoko goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim, who has kept back to back clean sheets in three GPL matches for the team.

On the other side, Diawisie Taylor seems to have lost his scoring boots, going four matches without a goal. Umar Bashiru is yet to produce the creative spark he showed in the first round as Karela struggle to unlock defences.

King Faisal need all three points to continue with their redemption but Karela will fancy their chances against the relegation threatened club.

Prediction: King Faisal 2-1 Karela United
