2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 26 Match Preview - Eleven Wonders vs. Hearts of Oak

Published on: 20 May 2021

Eleven Wonders FC return to the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman on Friday in search for points as they aim at intensifying their fight against relegation.

The Sure Wonders lads will tackle second placed Hearts of Oak in a crunchy matchday 26 fixture.

They go into the match on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Karela United FC last weekend at the CAM Park in Anyinase.

Ignatius Osei-Fosu and his men are lying at the 15th position on the league standings with only one point above the relegation zone.

Only a victory over the Phobians will give Wonders a big cushion in their relegation dogfight.

Wonders have not managed a single victory in their last three matches having drawn twice and lost once in the process. They have just one win in the last 8 league games.

The reverse fixture saw the Techiman based side lose 2-0 to Hearts of Oak.

Osei-Fosu has a fully strength squad available to him for selection for Friday's crucial duel.

Hearts are chasing a fourth straight win in the Ghana Premier League for the first time this campaign as they make the trip to Techiman to face Wonders.

The Phobians have recorded victories against Bechem United, King Faisal Babes and Elmina Sharks FC in their last three games.

This is has taken the Rainbow team to the 2nd place on the premiership standings, just two points behind leaders and bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko SC.

A win on Friday over Wonders will see Phobians take charge of the top spot with a point gap.

Hearts will be missing the services of key player Patrick Razak who picked up an injury during the last training and has been ruled out of the game.

Midfielder Salifu Ibrahim will be facing his former club if he is lined up by Samuel Boadu.

It will be the first time Ibrahim faces Wonders since he switched camp to join Hearts in the second transfer window.

Ibrahim has been named man of the match in two of the last three matches and is expected to lead the Phobians to victory at a familiar ground to him on Friday.
