Former Hearts of Oak defender, Vincent Atinga, says the upcoming 2020/21 Ghana Premier League will be one of the most exciting and competitive due to the return of Asamoah Gyan.

According to the defender, the return of Ghana’s all-time leading top scorer will also improve the brand and standard of the Ghana Premier League in the upcoming season.

The 34-year old returns to the domestic-topflight after 17 years since playing for Liberty Professionals before he left for Europe.

Gyan joins Legon Cities in a deal worth $1 million in wages according to his agent Samuel Anim Addo.

The Black Stars general captain’s return has also projected the image of Ghana football on the global stage after FIFA and CAF reacted to his move.

Vincent Atinga indicated that the return of Gyan will definitely improve the league and all the Premier League clubs have strengthened their squads which will make the league competitive.

“This season the Ghana Premier League will be exciting as many of the clubs have made good signings and the inclusion of Asamoah Gyan in the league with Legon Cities FC will really improve the league and it will be one of the exciting leagues”, he told Hot FM.

The 2020/21 Ghana Premier League is set to commence on November 13, 2020.
