2020/21 Women’s Premier League wrap up: Immigration Ladies suffer defeat, Ashtown Ladies record first win

The Women’s Premier League continued this weekend at the various centers as football advocates were served with impressive performances in match day three.

Two-time winners of the National Women's League, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, travelled to Kumasi to take on women’s football giants, Fabulous Ladies. Black Maidens playmaker, Tracy Twum got the only goal in the encounter in the 15th minute to seal the game for the visitors.

Prisons Ladies 1:1 Northern Ladies

After losing their first home game, Prisons Ladies were looking forward to beating the “the pride of the North” when they locked horns at the Coronation Park in Sunyani. However, after 90 minutes of exciting display, they had to share the points as the game ended 1-1

Fredericka Tokudzor drew first blood for the away side in the 20th minute but Abigail Tutuwaah pulled parity for the officers in the 30th minute. Northern Ladies held on the draw to get what would be a vital one point on the road.

Kumasi Sports Academy 0:1 Ashtown Ladies

Comfort Baah Nuako scored the only goal in the 76th minute at the Okesse Park to give Ashtown Ladies their first win of the season, overcoming Kumasi Sports Academy Ladies. Kumasi Sports Academy disappointed their teeming supporters who trooped to the park to watch the much-talked-about the encounter. They had plethora goal scoring chances but could not make it count on the scoreboard

Pearl Pia Ladies 2:1 Supreme Ladies

At the Tamale Utrecht Park, a brace Shahadu Rashida in the 33rd and 45th minute was enough to give Pearl Pia Ladies another victory at home. Coach Joyce Boatey Agyei side didn’t go down that easily without a fight as Patience Berchie Afriyie pulled a consolation goal in the 46th minute for the visitors.

Berry Ladies 2:1 Sea Lions FC

Coach Mercy Tagoe’s Berry Ladies continued with their winning spree at home as they beat Sea Lions 2-1 at the Madina Astroturf Park. Sea Lion’s Alice Sarpong scored the opener in the early minutes of the game before Felicity Asante equalizes for Berry Ladies in the 59th minute. Black Maiden’s midfielder, Anastasia Achiaa scored an own goal in the last minute of additional time to aim the home team to continue with their unbeaten run.

Hasaacas Ladies 1:0 Thunder Queens FC

Thunder Queens traveled to the Sekondi Gyandu Park to face Hasaacas Ladies hopefully to repeat last season’s 1-0 victory but unfortunately, Patience Prah in the 65th minute scored an own goal to give Hasaacas their first victory at home.

Ladystrikers 1:0 Immigrations Ladies

Immigration Ladies suffered another defeat in the hands of Ladystrikers at the Robert Mensah Stadium. Gifty Addai Boakye scored the only goal in the 30th minute when she connected a beautiful free-kick from a teammate, Suzzy Dede Teye that went past Immigration Ladies goalkeeper, Patricia Mantey.

Police Ladies 0:1 Soccer Intellectuals

At McDan La park, Police Ladies failed to win their second home game when they suffered a 1-0 defeat in the hands of the Soccer Intellectuals. Adina Akpo sealed the game for the visitors in the 11th minute.
