Ghana's Black Satellites will face Niger in the semi-finals in the ongoing sub-regional tournament in Benin.
The Black Satellites picked up second place in the group to book a place in the last four after losing to the Young Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in their final group game on Saturday at the Stade de Gaule in Porto-Novo.
The Young Elephants qualified ahead of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles thanks to a stunning strike from a free-kick by Issouf Dosso.
Ivory Coast top the group with 4 points followed by Ghana with 3 points as Nigeria exit the tournament with just a point.
Ghana will clash with Group A winners Niger in the semi-finals on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
Niger and Burkina Faso finished as group winners with five points each.
Cote d’Ivoire will play against Burkina Faso in the other semi-final game.
Coach Karim Zito and his players are hoping to secure a place in the finals to cushion their chances of qualifying for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations tournament to be held in Mauritania next year.
The Black Satellites failed to qualify for the tournament in the previous edition.
