Published on: 05 November 2021

WAFA maintained their unbeaten record at home against Hearts of Oak in this week two fixture of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League fixture.

The Academy lads have never lost at home to The Phobians in the Ghana Premier League.

Kofi Kordzi broke the deadlock for Hearts of Oak in the dying minutes of the first half.

He had earlier missed a chance in the game and redeemed himself with the strike to give the defending champions the lead.

It was the first goal scored by the Accra based side since their first meeting with the academy lads in 2015.

Hearts of Oak went into the break leading the tie by a lone goal.

After recess, the academy lads changed strategy as they put more pressure on the away  side for the equalizer.

Sampson Agyapong got the equalizer for WAFA in the 59th minute with a sublime finish.

Hearts of Oak are still without a win in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season after match day two.

WAFA also failed to pick the three points after losing their opening game of the season to King Faisal at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
