2021/22 Ghana Premier League: Week 11 Match Preview- Legon Cities v Accra Lions

Published on: 03 January 2022

Relegation threatened Legon Cities will be hosting newcomers Accra Lions on matchday 11 of the Ghana Premier League at their alternative home, the Dawu Theater of Dreams.

The Royals have had a turbulent start to the season and currently sit 16th on the league table despite their huge investment in the transfer window.

Legon Cities have won just a game in their last five matches, and two in ten games in the ongoing Ghana Premier League. They've lost four and drawn four games.

Meanwhile, their opponents Accra Lions, have won three games, drawn two and lost five matches.

Lions' away record has been poor, losing all five matches on the road in their first year in the topflight league.

However, their first win under new coach James Francis in the match against Real Tamale United is expected to boost their confidence ahead of the game on Monday.

Legon Cities also recorded a good win on the road against Elmina Sharks in their last game on 2021.

Star players Jonah Osabutey, Eric Ofori Antwi and Hans Kwoffie are yet to glitter for the mega-rich club while Rauf Salifu has held the forth Accra Lions. Fredrick Asante has been picking the pieces in recent weeks, having snatched the winners against Eleven Wonders and RTU.

It is the first meeting between the two sides in the Ghana Premier League.

Prediction: Legon Cities 1-2 Accra Lions
