2021/22 Ghana Premier League Week 14: Match Preview – Great Olympics vs King Faisal

Published on: 22 January 2022

Great Olympics host King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium in a week 14 Ghana Premier League meeting on Sunday.

This should be an interesting clash as both teams are aiming to get back to winning ways and end their respective poor run of results.

The host Olympics have failed to win any of their last three games, recording draws in all and as a result, have dropped to seventh.

Olympics can count on star man Maxwell Abbey Qauaye, who is available following Ghana's shock early exit from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The capital-based club clearly missed their striker. In his absence, Olympics scored three goals in four games and dropped six points from a possible 12.

King Faisal also come into the game, not in the best of shape. They lost two consecutive games for the first time this season and claimed just three points in their last four games.

As such, King Faisal have dropped from first to third and are four points adrift of leaders Kotoko.

Their poor form has left fans worried and coach Nurudeen Amadu has to identify the problem and fix it.

On Sunday, the Kumasi-based club have to be at their very best to overcome Olympics who are unbeaten at home this season.

Olympics got the better of King Faisal when they met last season in Accra. The match ended 3-1, but Faisal made amends at home with a 1-0 win.
