Gold Stars

Bibiani Gold Stars rallied from a goal down to beat Legon Cities FC 2-1 at Dun's Park on Sunday.

The Miners scored two goals in seven minutes to collect the points at home.

On three minutes, the visitors won a free kick from a promising distance but a Michael Ampadu's effort could not cause much havoc.

Legon Cities captain Francis Addo made an audacious attempt to score with strike from distance. It was worth the gamble.

Gold Stars defenders made a good clearance to deny Jones Attuquaye the opener.

The home team nearly took the lead through Emmanuel Appau squandered a glorious chance to open the scoring but shockingly got his effort saved.

But credit goes to goalkeeper William Essu who dived to the right place to deny the hosts.

Legon Cities took the lead through Osman Amadu on the stroke of the half-time.

Five minutes after recess, Attuquaye set up Hamzah Nassiru but his finish went wide.

But Gold Stars upped the ante and took over for the remainder of the half.

In the 70th minute, Appau made amends for his first half miss by scoring the equalizer.

Then seven minutes later, the match winner was scored.
