Berekum Chelsea returned to winning ways in the Ghana Premier League after a posting a 1-0 success over Bibiani Gold Stars at the Golden City Park on Sunday.
The former champions needed a 39th minute goal from Owusu Osei to collect the points at home.
Gold Stars were without six key players-Emmanuel Appau, Frank Adjei Junior, Yakubu Haqq, Richard Amoah, Mamoud Oshie and Nicholas Osei Bonsu.
Chelsea needed the win to push up the ladder after dropping points in their last game to end the first round.
They had Edwin Kuffour start and striker Kofi Owusu on the bench but Henry Ansu was absent from the match day squad.
