2021/22 Ghana Premier League Week 24: Match Report – Elmina Sharks 1-0 King Faisal

Published on: 10 April 2022

Elmina Sharks returned to winning ways in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, defeating King Faisal 1-0 at the Nduom Sports Stadium.

Thanks to Ishameal Antwi's late strike, the bottom-placed team emerged victorious in the tight contest.

The defender scored the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute, giving the Sharks all three points and condemning King Faisal to yet another defeat.

The Kumasi-based club have now gone six league games without a win or a draw, putting them in danger of relegation.

The Sharks were slightly better on the day, putting in more effort and being rewarded when Antwi scored.

The victory could provide them with the motivation they need to improve and keep their league status.

Sharks are in a difficult situation because they are at the bottom, but with seven points separating them from safety and ten games remaining, they have every reason to believe.

Faisal, on the other hand, need to work on getting back to their best. After a promising start to the season, they have struggled in the second round.

If they continue to play as they have in recent games, they may be relegated.
