Published on: 18 November 2021

Berekum Chelsea will be hunting for their first victory of the Ghana Premier League this campaign on Friday when they face high-flying King Faisal Babes.

The Bibires will take on the Kumasi based club at the Golden City Park in Berekum.

Chelsea have been poor since the start of the season having picked only one point after three matches, one draw at home and two defeats at away.

They go into this Friday's game on the back of a 2-1 loss to Karela United FC last Sunday despite scoring first in the encounter.

Ghanaian international trainer Moses Cofie has been appointed new head coach of the club and will be looking to begin his reign with a victory over Faisal.

Cofie won league and FA Cup titles while in Burkina Faso handling Rahimo FC and has also coached in Togo and in Sudan.

He has a full house available for selection for his very first match as Chelsea gaffer.

Faisal have been in immense form since the opening day of the season as the have achieved an 100% run record after three matchdays.

The "Insha Allah" Boys have recorded wins against WAFA SC at home, Aduana Stars at away and AshantiGold SC at home.

They have scored six goals and conceded just once after the three games and would want to continue their fine form against Chelsea.

The 2-0 win over AshantiGold in the Ashanti derby last Sunday sees Faisal go an extended nine matches unbeaten in the premiership.

With their last league defeat on 6 June and that was against Chelsea at the same venue in Berekum, the Green and Whites have six victories and three draws since then.

On loan from Asante Kotoko SC, Ibrahim Osman has been the trumpcard for Faisal so far this campaign scoring three times and providing one assist in the process.

Nurudeen Amadu will be having a fully strength squad at his disposal for selection for Friday's encounter with Chelsea.
