2021/22 Ghana Premier League Week 8: Medeama 1-0 Legon Cities

Published on: 15 December 2021

Medeama recorded an uninspiring 1-0 win over Legon Cities to continue their recent surge of form in the Ghanaian top-flight

Joseph Tetteh Zutah's 22nd rebound was all that the home side needed to maintain their winning streak.

Zutah completed the job after Ansu Kofi Patrick made a mess of a one on one situation.

Medeama coach Umar Abdul Rabi made three changes to the squad that beat Real Tamale United 1-0 last weekend.

Godfred Abban, Ali Ouattara and Rashid Nortey started the match at the Akoon Park.

Kofi Asmah picked up a last minute knock during the warm-up and had to be replaced by Ali Ouattara.

Ouattara distinguished himself in the second half after a sloppy first half display.

Despite the win, Medeama will have lot of concerns after an unflattering performance in front of their home fans.

Legon Cities should be proud of themselves after dominating play and given the host a good run for their money.

The visitors were the better side of the two and deserved at least a point.

But their lack of firepower despite their midfield dominance denied the chance to pull parity.

Medeama have now amassed 12 points with a game in hand and looks set to improve in their performance.
