Seventeen (17) players from Ghana's final 28-man squad will be making their debut appearances at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac retained his contingent after pruning down the squad from 30 to 28 players.
Abdul Salis Ahmed of French Ligue 1 Clermont Foot and Felix Afena Gyan of AS Roma were the two players to be dropped from the squad.
Out of the 28 players in the final list 11 players have had the Afcon experience with Dede Ayew going to be the most experienced in the squad for this tournament.
Kamaldeen Sulemana (Stade Rennes), Abdul Fatawu Issahaku (Dreams FC), Khalid Abdul Mumin (Vitoria de Guimaraes, Portugal) are the youngsters in the Ghana squad for the tournament.
A blend of the debutants and experienced players should be a good omen for the Black Stars as they seek to break their Nations Cup drought.
Ghana will play a friendly International against African Champions Algeria on Wednesday, January 05, 2022 at the Education City stadium in Doha to wrap up preparations ahead of the tournament.
The Black Stars will kick start the tournament against giants Morocco on Monday, January 10 before taking on Gabon and Comoros in the other Group C matches.
