2021 Africa Cup of Nations: We need to stick together- Jonathan Mensah positive despite Morocco defeat

Defender Jonathan Mensah says the team will weather the storm together as they hope to bounce back from the opening Group C to Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Mensah, an unused substitute and one of the most experienced players in the team is confident the Black Stars will be up for the games against Gabon and Comoros Island.

Sofiane Boufal's 83rd minute strike separated the Atlas Lions from the Black Stars.

"The mood is fine in camp even though we lost the game we know we still got two games to go. We just need to go recover and go on," he said after the match.

"It's always about the result, we are disappointed, we held our heads high and we will go again.

"We need to stick together, regardless of what happens, we just have to stick together and bounce back," he added.

Jonathan Mensah will be hoping to make the starting line up for the match against Gabon.

The Black Stars have to beat the Panthers to boost their chances of making it to the last 16.
