Real Tamale United

Real Tamale United survived demotion on the final day of competition last season and hope to put lessons to good use on Sunday, 11 September 2022, when they start the campaign against newly-promoted Samartex at home.

There is a new man in-charge of the Pride of the North. Baba Nuhu Mallam was confirmed as head coach last month [August].

Mallam has since assembled his backroom staff which include video analyst and club legend Tawfik Alolo as an assistant coach.

Last season, RTU managed ten wins- the third lowest-, 11 draws and 13 defeats.

Samartex secured historic qualification to the Ghana top-flight after winning Zone II of the Division One League.

The Timbers made a huge statement when they signed Head Coach Annor Walker from Great Olympics.

Walker is riding on a crest of wave now after guiding the home-based national team to qualify for the 2023 CHAN finals, eliminating arch-rivals Nigeria.

They signed former Hearts of Oak defender Larry Sumaila.

Also, goalkeeper Richard Baidoo was recruitment from Hearts of Oak.

Samartex had a good pre-season by featuring in the Division One Super Competition in Kyebi where they won bronze.
